Chris is a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor who has worked in field of addiction and behavioral health field since 2012. Chris is a graduate of Northern Arizona University, and Grand Canyon University, receiving a Master's of Addiction Counseling. Chris is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and Certified Gambling Addiction Therapist. Additionally, Chris earned a Certificate in Trauma Stress Studies with Bessel van der Kolk, a world-renowned clinician and researcher in traumatic stress, in 2015.

Chris has experience working with diverse populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Most notably, Chris has had the honor of working and training at The Meadows, a world-renowned treatment center who is best known for Pia Mellody's Model of Developmental Immaturity. As a Family Counselor, Chris also had the honor and privilege of working and training with Claudia Black focusing on couples and family therapy.

On a personal note, Chris personally knows the feeling of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and alone. He also knows the power of healing and recovery. Chris is very calm, patient, and steady but also very passionate about helping his clients find resolution. Chris knows how vital safety, trust and comfort in the therapist-client relationship is and that it is the key to effective psychotherapy.

PIT is developed solely for the formal training of therapists, focuses on Pia Mellody’s pioneering work in developing therapeutic techniques for identifying and treating the underlying trauma of most addictive and dysfunctional processes.
